There is no experience as in traditonal RPGs, but you can level up by finding artifacts. Finding these artifacts is the main objective in Cube World. Like other popular adventure-games, the thrill is in exploring the map and constructing your world. The game is set in a world that is randomly generated as you play. You have the choice to play as it your world evolves around you or play a world you or your friends have created by using a unique identifier called a 'seed' to access it and sharing with whoever you wish to invite and cooperate.
Cube World is also an action game. There are lots of different skills each player can learn to master, from climbing and swimming to sailing. These skills play a huge role in overcoming challenges which come to meet players during the game. For instance, one might need to escape a merciless monster in the dark depths of a dungeon. As you get past different obstacles you are awarded with weapons, armor, and platinum coins, which are used to help you progress further. The combat in the game is probably the best part of the action. Battle it out at long-range or close-quarters using lots of different weaponry and attack combos.

The RPG side is highly developed as well. For instance, you can choose a character from as many as four different character classes, each with their own skills and limitations. Warriors use charged attacks, as they are more heavily armored. Rangers use ranged charged attacks, using ranged weapons and less armor. Mages cast spells and may or may not have armor. Rogues are super fast and focus on moving around during combat. Each class has two specializations and characters can be leveled up infinitely. In terms of races, there are eight currently playable races to choose from, including human, orc, frogman, and even undead.
