Review:
Son of God was released in 2014 by 20th Century Fox and is available on DVD from a number of online sources. In my opinion, it is a fresh and engaging update of the Jesus story. It follows scripture closely, but was designed to evangelize a mass audience. It moves briskly and dramatically. These features make it particularly suitable for children and youth. Is it perfect? No. But having taught with it in my own Sunday School classes, I can tell you that it is full of teachable moments, and my kids found it as engaging and moving as I did.

Age Range Notes:
Son of God is appropriate for grades 3 and up. Some younger children may find the crucifixion scene too graphic. Some scenes, particularly those where the Priests and Romans discuss Jesus, have some tough vocab and concepts, in part because they come fast.
